Trees for the Future

A university student in Nicaragua holds avocado seeds, which she’ll plant in the bags in the bottom-right of the photo. Once they’ve grown to a sufficient size, farmers will transplant the avocado seedlings to their forest gardens. Forest gardens provide a healthy and varied diet for communities, as well as a way to earn an income that can help pay for schooling for their children. Planting out of poverty:
