The 230 year old Whistler tree who is located in the Alenteijo region of Portugal is the most productive known cork oak.Ever since 1820 his cork is harvested every 9 years for wine cork bottles. In 2009 825 kg

of raw cork were extracted which was enough for 100,000 wine bottles. 2018 is his next harvest.A great example for sustainability..
